Yvonne has a passion to see marriages healed, flourish and be the happiest and most fulfilling of all relationships, apart from one’s personal relationship with God. She has over the past 15 years counselled numerous couples and individuals and currently provides Bible based counselling to those seeking marriage and those already married at Apostolic Pentecostal Church and Christian Life Center. A past teacher at Tyndale University & Seminary, Yvonne currently teaches part time at a local Christian school. She is married, has three adult children and ten grandchildren and one great granddaugther.

I recently heard the comment from a Pastor’s sweet wife, ‘Healing is in our own hands. We do what we can do and God will do what we cannot do’. What simple yet profound words. I guess this can be applied to all areas of our lives but I am going to focus it on marriage.
The happiest couples take time to pray, work, play and talk together. They make time to find little ways to make each other’s day easier and feel more loving. I have discovered that the more we do this, the more we save in our ‘marriage bank’ which means we have more capital to spend on discussing improvements to the relationship and a good lump sum to draw from in tough times!
Like most things in life, whatever we put in our ‘marriage bank’ it will blossom with interest and the whole family benefits.
Yes, marriage requires work; we all have our ups and downs but a loving, God fearing and wise heart will reap good rewards for us, our children and our children’s children.
